The Piedmontese red sauce takes its name from its main ingredient, tomato, but inside there are also other fresh vegetables such as onions and bell peppers.
The famous Piedmontese sauce is commonly used as an accompaniment to traditional meat dishes and is made even more delicious by the addition of spices.
