SOIL TYPE

Volcanic, with  high concentration of minerals and micro elements, rich in potassium and phosphorous, it has the characteristic of being very draining therefore maintaining a perfect humidity level, guaranteeing nourishment to the grapevine even during periods of greater drought. This  allow the vines to produce grapes that can provide wines with unique scents and aromas.

VINEYARD

The vineyard portion dedicated to this specific type of still wine is about a hectare located North/East of a hill in Monte Porzio Catone town. As in the "Castelli Romani" (an area near Rome) tradition, the vine is organized in rows, and the production consists of approximatively 90 quintals per hectare.

GRAPE HARVEST

The harvest begins around the second week of September, following a careful evaluation and check of the grapes' condition the harvest is carried out by hand removing the bunches that do not meet the desired standards.

VINIFICATION

After being harvested the grapes are pressed by a continuous press and, after the pressing, the stalks are removed and the grape must is left to macerate for three days in contact with their skins. The vinification ends  in stainless steel vats before being bottled.

TASTING NOTES

This wine perfectly and fully reflects the typical characteristics of the "Malvasia Puntinata" grapes. It's fresh, powerful on the palate with a bitter aftertaste. It has an intense yellow colour with golden hues.

FOOD PAIRINGS

This type of wine matches perfectly with Lazio's traditional cuisine, but it goes well with cheeses and fish too. It's also good as an aperitif accompanied by canapés and all kind of appetizers.
